Ah, genetics!

Today I got the results from all the blood tests they did at my first appointment.

• I'm not anemic.
• I don't have HIV.
• I don't have syphilis.
• I don't have hepatitis-B.
• I am immune to german measles.
• My thyroid is functioning normally.
• I am a carrier of the gene for cystic fibrosis.

Apparently, there might be a CF link to my Jewish heritage from my father's side of the family?

So, now Chris has to have a blood test to see if he is also a carrier. If he's not, we're in the clear. If he is, there is a 1 in 4 chance that the baby will have CF (but also a 3 in 4 chance that it won't!).

I'm eager to get the results of his test. I'm concerned, but also not too worried at this point. We'll cross any bridges when we come to them.
